Job Description
With us, you will receive:
- Modern, well-equipped work environments.
- Opportunities for continuous professional development.
- Colleagues who work together to make a real difference.
At the Endoscopy Unit, we only work daytime: Monday–Thursday 07:30–16:30, Friday 07:30–14:00. We primarily perform outpatient endoscopic examinations but also handle emergency cases from hospitalized patients.
You will be responsible for one patient at a time, and your tasks include:
- Preparation for examination.
- Insertion of peripheral venous catheters.
- Documentation and patient observation during examination.
- Medication management.
- Support for the assistant and endoscopist.
You will also receive training as an assistant, where you work closely with the endoscopist and assist during the examination. The examination time varies between 30 minutes and a few hours. You will receive a tailored introduction and always have colleagues close at hand – we work in teams and support each other. Once you are comfortable in your role, there is an opportunity to undergo training in patient-controlled sedation and administer Propofol independently. There is also the possibility to further your education to become an endoscopist during work hours (two years at half-time).
Work Group
We are currently a wonderful team of about 20 employees – both nursing assistants and nurses. Many have extensive experience and are happy to help. We have a positive atmosphere where teamwork and engagement are central.
About You
We are looking for a licensed nurse, preferably with a few years of experience. Your interest in endoscopy is more important than having concrete experience in the field. Since you work in a team and in constant dialogue with patients and colleagues, it is a requirement that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
To thrive and fit in with us, you are:
- Collaborative, positive, and contribute to a good work environment.
- Meticulous, quality-conscious, and engaged in development work.
- Responsive and communicative with colleagues, patients, and relatives.
- Flexible and confident in quickly changing focus when the situation requires.
- Structured and good at planning and prioritizing.
It is important for you to provide good and safe care.
